Just a quick letter before we all meet up for the annual get together at the AGM to be held this year at the Savoy Hotel - Bournemouth. I’ve to find my way there yet.

Anyway as I have had no feed back regarding putting anything on the site here goes with some information received from Sue Phillips.

As you all will be aware she has been trying to organise next year’s Ban Yan party to Jersey ( the island not a jumper). So far has managed to get a hotel organised and would like to have an idea of who would be interested in going and who would be willing to make a firm booking - please think on so that you will be able to tell her at the AGM meeting. As far as I know it will be on a half board basis and not all inclusive as usual.
Sue has put a lot of time and effort into all this so that those S/Ms who cannot travel by aircraft would still be able to go on by sea on holiday. This would give many of us a chance to get some sea time in - I of course have plenty of this having the Mersey Ferries on my doorstep.

Since our Jolly to Ibiza in May have had a trip to Poland. The scenery outside of the main towns are wonderful and the people very friendly would urge anyone thinking of going to do so. The problem with Polish was that most words seem to begin with either G or W and end the same way but being a stoker well versed in languages I had no problem, this could have been due to having the foresight to use an interperator. Whilst there visited a few places namely AUSCHWITZ & BERKSTEN concentration camps which was a bit eerie, the salt mines at WIELICSKA these were fantastic and a must for anyone in the area went also to the village of Wadawice which supplies honey to the Vatican. As you can see this was a very instructive and educational trip be extremely enjoyable.
Have also just had two weeks in Majorca with our youngest daughter & her family so at present am completely knackered. The young grandsons seem to be on the go all the time.

Now its no good getting on to me about writing all about myself etc. you have brought it on yourselves by not sending me anything to write about. Surely someone has something to say even if it is only joke to pass on. Please let me have something to say on the Web site otherwise be it on your heads I will bore to tears with my trips to ASDA and that other Jet setters palace of iniquity Morrisons.

Another point of interest were does everyone want to have the AGM next year - several people have suggested going back to Coventry - what do you think.
